WHAT IS IT? – The Colorado ACDA will be hosting a choral festival open to all middle schools and junior high schools in the state. Each performing ensemble will be asked to perform 3 selections for a very qualified panel of judges. There will be a brief time of feedback and instruction from one of the judges following the performance. Each choir will then be escorted to a room for a sight reading evaluation. This is modeled after CHSAA choral festivals so your students may have experience in how our state festivals operate.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? – $125 per ensemble if director is member of ACDA or $150 per ensemble if director is not a member of ACDA. If you would like to join ACDA, please go to our website.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? – From beginning to end, 90 minutes! Your group will have 30 minutes to warm-up, 15-20 minutes to perform followed by a brief clinic with one of our judges, and 30 minutes for your group’s sight reading evaluation. You are certainly invited and encouraged to arrive early or stay to listen to other groups perform.
HOW DO I REGISTER? – Click HERE and register online. Time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Pay with a credit card. If your school does not have a credit card, please email Alan Denney [alan_denney@psdr3.k12.co.us].
