In preparation for Kantorei’s appearance at the 2019 American Choral Directors National Conference in Kansas City, we celebrate one of the most prolific and beloved melody writers in all of choral music, John Rutter. The first half of our concerts feature some of Mr. Rutter’s personal favorite sacred works, including this concert’s namesake as well as “For the Beauty of the Earth” and “A Gaelic Blessing”. This part of the program also features organist Jan Kraybill from Kansas City. This is in preparation for our session with John Rutter at National.
The second half features other repertoire to be performed at ACDA in our solo concerts on Friday of the conference, including “Six Chansons” by Paul Hindemith, and Kim Arnesen’s “Infinity”.
