Jazz Immersion Day
Wednesday, March 4th, 1-5pm (Marriot Salon A)

Colorado’s own Janice Vlachos (SWACDA Contemporary/Commercial R&R Chair) is helping lead this year’s SWACDA Jazz Immersion Day

Everything you want to know about introducing/teaching jazz! If you would like to either start a jazz choir or take your current jazz choir to the next level then this experience is for you! Join Justin Binek, Kerry Marsh, John Stafford, and Janice Vlachos for an amazing afternoon of jazz instruction. This event (free with registration), will inspire you to introduce/improve jazz education in your music program. There will be five break out sessions providing tools in:

* Vocal jazz reading and repertoire * Building a strong jazz foundation * Rehearsal strategies * Anatomy of the jazz chord * If I don’t scat-sing how can I teach it?

New Teacher Immersion Day
Wednesday, March 4, 1-5 pm

Colorado’s own Melissa Elser (COACDA High School R&R Chair) will be one of the presenters. All college students and new teachers are invited to attend! We’ll discuss practical and concrete ways to make your rehearsal space more thoughtful and inclusive for only $10!

Enjoy a day of ACDA events tailored for members just like you! We’ll be addressing topics that will be helpful to you at the beginning of your career, as well as helping you make lasting professional connections to peers and headliners.

Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
