2024 SUMMER WORKSHOP - July 22nd - 24th

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Colorado ACDA invites you into a nine month journey around issues of racial diversity and equity. These critical conversations will provide information and resources that can help you look inward as a citizen and a member of our shared profession. More importantly, we will do our best to open up safe spaces for all of us to question, ponder, and wrestle together. We are thrilled to have entered into a partnership with Dr. Anthony Trecek-King, former Artistic Director of the Boston Children’s Chorus and newly appointed Director of Choral Activities at the Hartt School. Dr. Trecek-King is a guiding force in the national conversation around race and choral singing and brings a rare combination of expertise, insight, and compassion to the numerous groups and organizations he consults with around these urgent topics. In addition to monthly sessions with Dr. Trecek-King, participants will gather in small cohorts facilitated by members of the CoACDA leadership team. Join us as we learn and grow together and in doing so change the landscape of choral singing in Colorado for generations to come.

We can no longer stay in this place when it comes to race. We have to create a civil space for dialogue that is full of love and full of compassion…the time for change is now. It cannot wait because real hearts, real minds and real people hang in the balance.

Sincerely,
Dr. Kyle Fleming
President, ColoradoACDA
