The Cathedral Choir has routinely scheduled Wednesday evening rehearsals. The Cathedral Choir sings weekly (Excepting the week between Christmas and New Years.) The choir reconvenes on January 8.
Additional singing opportunities for compensation include: Cantor substitute at some weekend liturgies, weddings, holy days, funerals.
Duties for the position are:
- Sunday 10:30 AM Cathedral Choir weekly
- Wednesday rehearsals
- Learn music outside of rehearsal in order to lead singers in the section
- Demonstrate vocal style/phrasing/proper dynamics and blend/manage section cohesion
Additional mandatory programming as choristers throughout the year includes:
- Lessons and Carols Dec 11 (2022) at 3 PM
- Midnight Mass Dec 24th
- Christmas Day at 10:30 Mass
- Holy Thursday at 5:30 PM (April 6th 2023)
- Good Friday Service at 3 PM (April 7th 2023)
- Easter Vigil Mass at 8:00 PM (Saturday April 8th 2023)
- Easter Sunday Mass at 10:30 (April 9th 2023
A fee schedule for rehearsals and Sunday masses, and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and Holy Week, is available for those who meet the qualifications of the position. A sliding fee scale accompanies the job duties per call during Christmas and Holy Week.
