Greetings! The Peak to Peak Chorale has been rehearsing/performing since 1995 in Gilpin County and surrounding communities. Over the past 27 years (with the exception of a pandemic break), the Chorale has performed a variety of literature and welcomes input from our new director as to the path(s) we will take. In addition, the Chorale had excellent scripts portraying colorful characters and wild stories from the rich historical Central City/Gilpin County mining history/wild west days when it was the most populated area in the state. These stories have been creatively woven together with appropriate advanced literature of many genres in up to 8-10 parts from many composers including modern and our own director’s compositions/arrangements. Our wonderful director, Dr. Jane Wyss, has retired after 10 years! After her retirement from Westchester State University – student quote: “Dr. Wyss is a fabulous example of what a music educator can be. Her level of enthusiasm, dedication and attitude were amazing!!! Thank you for all you have given to the world!!” We are fortunate to have an outstanding, super-reliable accompanist who will continue trekking up the mountain for weekly rehearsals from Arvada. The location, time, and day can be adjusted for the successful candidate (with membership availability), as well as the musical direction the choir will take. The choir looks forward to continuing and building our membership. There is decent compensation available! Members include some former professional musicians to amateurs with amazing talent. We are willing to channel in focused rehearsals as well as full-group and excited for this new chapter. Past performances have taken place in Black Hawk, Central City, Nederland, Coal Creek Canyon, and Golden Gate Canyon.
