Voices West is seeking an Administrative Director for the 2025 calendar year to work as an independent contractor in securing grant funding for the organization and assisting the Voices West’s Board of Directors with day-to-day operations of the organization.
Responsibilities
Development and Grants
- Writing Voices West’s grant applications and reports and researching potential grant opportunities.
- Gathering and organizing organizational information for use in grant applications and reports.
- Maintaining Voices West’s donor database and public donor list.
- Assisting in developing funding streams.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with current and potential grantors and other funders.
Event Support
- Managing Voices West’s online box office, ticketing system, concert live streaming, and patron and mailing lists.
- Securing venues and volunteers for Voices West performances and community outreach, fundraising, and other public events.
- Assisting with supplies for Voices West performances and other events.
- Recognizing, thanking, and celebrating Voices West’s volunteers.
Document Management, Communication, Outreach
- Assisting with resources for and communications with Voices West singers, including serving as a backup on Voices West’s singer newsletter, updating the singer handbook, and printing singer name tags.
- Assisting with document creation and management.
- Assisting with updating content on Voices West’s public website.
- Representing Voices West at community events.
Other
- Attending monthly Board of Directors meetings.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills are required. Experience with and/or education in grant writing is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
- The ability to quickly learn and utilize various computer-based applications is required.
- While many aspects of this position may be fulfilled remotely, the position does require that the applicant live in a location that allows them to attend events and meetings on a regular basis.
Compensation
The Administrative Director is a part-time independent contractor with yearly compensation of $10,000, paid in monthly installments.
Hiring Timeline
The new Administrative Director will overlap with the outgoing Administrative Director during the months of November and December of 2024 and then take on the role fully for the 2025 calendar year. The first two months of employment will be prorated based on the yearly compensation of the role and will allow for a smooth transition of responsibilities and knowledge.
Voices West
Since 1978, Voices West has had a long tradition of choral excellence and creative and engaging concert programming for audiences along the Colorado front range. Voices West’s 50+ member roster includes a wide variety of avocational singers including teachers, realtors, scientists, lawyers, engineers, and stay-at-home parents and caregivers. Under the leadership of Music Director, Michael Kreuger, Voice West performs a concert season of 8–10 major performances. Our smaller ensemble, Summit Sound, brings additional performances deeper into the community by performing at senior living centers, community celebrations, and other events.
