The Summit Choral Society seeks a choral director, to begin in late September 2022. The SCS has been Summit County’s choral group for more than 40 years, and is an SATB non-auditioned choir. We feature three concert seasons each year: Holiday/ Winter, Spring (classical) and Summer (pops/Broadway). We prefer candidates with a degree in Choral Conducting or Vocal music, with choral experience and possessing a solid understanding of Vocal pedagogy. Patience, positivity and a sense of humor are also a must.
Duties for the position include: choosing an appropriate and varied repertoire, teaching and directing rehearsals, auditioning soloists and working with singers of wide ranging abilities. The Summit Choral Society is a 501-3c organization. This is an independent contractor position and compensation is annually determined by the Board of Directors. Range: $400-$600 per month.
